Participate on a project team of engineers involved in development of software for Cisco products, that may include any of the following list of responsibilities: Write design specifications and functional specifications. Design, develop, enhance and maintain system software/ firmware, or diagnostic firmware for internetworking products (e.g. hubs, bridges, routers, or switches) in a UNIX / Solaris / Windows NT development environment. Typically requires BSEE/CS or equivalent training with 0-2+ yrs related experience.Limited use and/or application of basic networking theories and concepts. Requires knowledge in one or more of the following LAN/WAN protocols: Ethernet, Token Ring, FDDI, HDLC, SDLC, X.25, PPP, Frame Relay, SS7, ISDN, TCP/IP, IPX, DECnet and AppleTalk.
